SCADA

Our UHF/VHF data radios can extend a SCADA network beyond the limit where an EoSDH/SDH or WAN network becomes uneconomical or difficult to implement. The UHF/VHF Radios integrate into existing customer networks allowing the wireless network to seamlessly coexist with a wired network infrastructure.

A point-to-multipoint data radio system is organized in cells with a master station and multiple remote radios managed over-the-air. The remote radios can act as repeaters if required to reach radios even further away. Multiple master stations are connected through a TCP/IP WAN to one or multiple processing centres.

The most popular UHF radio option is equipped with two Ethernet and two serial ports, but other mixes are available. The port capacity is controlled by the QoS settings. The serial ports are often set to a throughput of 19.2 kb/s providing a reliable data delivery service in a potentially noisy radio environment. The Ethernet port offers a throughput of up to 80 kb/s under typical environmental conditions and with appropriate settings of the wide range of configurable parameters, like allowing over-the-air-management.

FEATURES

  • SNMPv1/2/3 based NMS with RADIUS security for authorisation, authentication and accounting
  • Adaptive Coding Modulation (QPSK to 64QAM) ensures highest throughput under all conditions
  • Various licensed VHF and UHF bands available. Channel size 12.5 / 25 / 50kHz, software selectable
  • Multiple protocols - serial ports and Ethernet ports at the same time
  • IEEE 802.1Q VLAN support and QoS support using IEEE 802.1p VLAN priority bits. QoS per port
  • L2 Bridge mode for Industrial LAN, L3 Router or L3 Gateway mode with static IP route.
  • Serial point-to-point or encapsulation of serial data over TCP or UDP
  • Ethernet header & IP/TCP compression to increase narrow band radio capacity.
  • Data encryption and authentication using up to 256 bit AES and CCM security standards.
  • Resilient – Redundancy option for increased availability in mission-critical systems.
  • Comprehensive Network Management – manage the radios using external or embedded network.
Use SNMP to monitor traps and alarms and use a Windows based GUI to manage alarms, statistics, diagnostic tools and remote control functionality.
