DEDICOM's Code of Conduct
This document outlines DEDICOM's Code of Conduct, detailing the company's commitment to ethical business practices, human rights, labor standards, environmental protection, and sound management systems. DEDICOM ensures transparency through self-evaluation or third-party audits and expects its partners to share these commitments.
Key Principles
Human Rights
DEDICOM supports the UN Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Global Compact's 10 principles, respecting individual dignity, privacy, and rights, and avoiding complicity in human rights violations.
Labor Standards
- Compensation and Working Hours: Complies with all applicable laws regarding wages, overtime, and working hours, ensuring employees do not exceed legal limits.
- Forced Labor: Prohibits forced, involuntary, or trafficked labor. All work is voluntary, and employees can terminate employment according to regulations.
- Young Workers: Adheres to minimum age laws, prohibits child labor, and avoids working with companies that use child labor.
- Harassment and Discrimination:
Treats all employees with dignity and respect, prohibiting physical punishment, threats of violence, and harassment. No discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, national origin, religion, political affiliation, disability, or age.
- Equal Treatment: Maintains discrimination-free workplaces, promoting equal opportunities based on qualifications, performance, skills, and experience for job descriptions, hiring, placement, training, compensation, and promotion.
- Freedom of Association: Respects employees' rights to organize, join unions, seek representation, and engage in collective bargaining according to local and national laws. Employees can raise complaints without fear of reprisal.
Health and Safety
- Takes appropriate measures for the health, safety, and welfare of employees, visitors, contractors, and affected community members.
- Uses recognized management systems (Danish Working Environment Act, OHSAS 18001, ILO Guidelines).
- Provides a safe and healthy working environment, complying with all safety laws, rules, and practices. Hazards are removed, and personal protective equipment is provided and its use instructed when necessary.
- Ensures regular health and safety training.
- Prohibits the use, possession, distribution, or sale of illegal substances on company premises or during work for DEDICOM.
Environment
- Recognizes its social responsibility to protect the environment by conserving resources and continuously improving environmental performance.
- Maintains an appropriate environmental management system.
- Complies with all environmental laws and regulations, maintaining necessary permits and registrations.
- Strives to minimize environmental impact (waste, water, energy) through internal rules, maintenance processes, material recycling, and substitution with eco-friendlier materials. Hazardous chemicals are handled, stored, used, recycled, or disposed of safely and legally.
Ethics
- Gifts and Services: Does not offer gifts or services to partners to influence business decisions, upholding high ethical standards and integrity. Complies with laws against bribery, fraud, corruption, and prohibited business practices.
- Reporting: Accurately records and reports all business information, complying with legal requirements for completeness and accuracy. Transparent in discussions with regulatory authorities.
- Conflicts of Interest: Avoids conflicts of interest, refraining from direct dealings with employees of partners (or their close relatives) who have significant financial interests in those partners.
- Bribery: Complies with anti-boycott regulations, the United States Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and all applicable anti-bribery laws (e.g., UK Bribery Act).
- Insider Trading: Prohibits the use or sharing of material, non-public information about partners for stock trading or other unauthorized purposes before public disclosure.
- Competition: Avoids any violation of competition rules, such as illegal price-fixing, market sharing, or other anti-competitive behavior.
- Money Laundering: Opposes all forms of money laundering and takes steps to prevent its financial transactions from being used for such purposes.
- Privacy: Commits to protecting personal information of employees and all business contacts, complying with all applicable privacy and information security laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR).
Management Systems
- Believes in sound management systems and engagement to enrich social and environmental well-being in its supply chain.
- Establishes and maintains a management system to facilitate compliance with this code and existing laws, identify and mitigate operational risks, and promote continuous improvement.
- Management Responsibility: Top management is clearly identified and regularly reviews the status of the management system.
- Export and Import Control: Complies with all applicable laws and regulations governing the export, re-export, or import of products, software, or technology.
- Risk Assessment and Management: Implements processes to identify and manage risks related to worker and human rights, health and safety, environment, business ethics, and legal compliance.
- Communication: Has a process for communicating clear and accurate information about policies, practices, expectations, and results to employees and customers.
- Audits and Assessments: Conducts periodic evaluations of its own and its subcontractors' facilities and operations to ensure compliance with the code and legal regulations.
